In Episode 273, Trev and AJ open the vaults to bring back an old favorite: an interview with working actor Darren Pettie. Darren was featured on the podcast way back in Episode 80—and his journey, from the military to the stages of New York and L.A., from Julliard to recurring roles on Mad Men, Ringer, and Madam Secretary—rings more true ever, even some 200 episodes later.
This is an interview I’ve been thinking back to a lot lately.
Darren’s philosophy—of work, of life—is steeped in resilience. It’s not the kind of thing I think he’d ever admit; he talks openly about having an ego, just like the rest of us. But it’s a sense you get from just being in his presence. His humility, his hunger, his commitment… it’s contagious. And, perhaps best of all, it’s easy. He wears life like a loose garment.
And who wouldn’t want a little more of that on their set?
Hope you enjoy revisiting Darren’s interview as much as we have.
Wear life like a loose garment,
