In Episode 279, Trev and AJ report straight from the Yosemite wilderness about unplugging (or plugging back in), artist brain nirvana, and taking that magic back into the room with you. Then Trev sits down for the third and final part of his conversation with Ana Carolina Valverde and Brian Ruppenkamp—otherwise known as Those Annoying Vegans—to talk about why honesty and curiosity are paramount for every creative.
It wasn’t easy wrapping up this conversation, much less condensing it into three digestible parts. There’s so much to cover, to share… and yet, it’s incredibly simple: follow your heart.
We’ve talked about it a lot on the podcast. The importance of practicing authenticity, of cultivating curiosity, of being good to others and aligning your values with your words and actions as much as humanly possible. But perhaps Ana says it best in this episode:
“Do something—anything—that catches your curiosity. Because that something will lead to something else, and you’ll meet someone new… it will set off a chain reaction.”
In this third and final part of our conversation, Ana and Brian share what spiked their YouTube traffic, how they balance their activism with non-activism work opportunities, offer a thorough debunking of the scarcity myth, and articulate, in no uncertain terms, what our real job as actors and artists is, as well as where they’re taking Those Annoying Vegans next, and how.
For, perhaps, obvious reasons, this is one of my most favorite conversations to date. It’s a conversation about leveraging the power of technology to fuel both our passions, and the progressive realization of a world that’s a win-win for everyone. It’s about education, inspiration, play, and taking the leap. And ultimately, it’s about knowing yourself and acting accordingly—even if you have no idea.
I sincerely hope you enjoy the (now complete) conversation with Ana and Brian.
